I am often moved to tears during the service of my home church. Sometimes they come during the message, sometimes they come during the music. Today was the latter.
God of Justice: Tim Hughes
God of Justice, Saviour to all
Came to rescue the weak and the poor
Chose to serve and not be served
Jesus, You have called us
Freely we’ve received
Now freely we will give
We must go live to feed the hungry
Stand beside the broken
We must go
Stepping forward keep us from just singing
Move us into action
We must go
To act justly everyday
Loving mercy in everyway
Walking humbly before You God
You have shown us, what You require
Freely we’ve received
Now freely we will give
Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out Lord
I know that there is some symbolism, a few things to be looked at figuratively. But, most of the time I cry during this song because I take a very literal position on the words. So many hungry, so many broken.
There are 147 million orphans across our world today. If 1 in 10 Christian families were to adopt, there would be 0.
We must go
Stepping forward keep us from just singing
Move us into action
We must go
Hey! I took a look see if you were writing…. so glad to find you here and follow YOUR path. Keeping you always in my prayers.
