Earlier this week, I was privileged to be the closing keynote speaker for the Illinois YMCA Staff Rally. During the 2-day event, I took the opportunity to sit in on a workshop led by Kate Bringardner.
Now, I have known since high school that the number 1 fear for people is public speaking, over death, fire, snakes, etc. But, I had never heard it referred to in the way that Kate shared. She said, “This fear means that a person would rather be in the coffin than giving the eulogy.”
I want to change that. Let me know if I can help you.
I leave this evening for Oil Belt Christian Service Camp. I have the privilege of leading a workshop tomorrow at their Ladies Day. How I LOVE talking to women, just being in the presence of other ladies. Women who are doing their best to walk justly, rightly, humbly as women, as wives, as moms.
My workshop is entitled Tongue Tied and described as: God has blessed us with the gift of speech, but what are we doing with the gift? We often underestimate the power God has entrusted to us. It is time to untie our tongues and let His gift flow from our lips.
I’m excited to share as well as to listen. The entire day should be one of refreshment and rejuvenation. I can’t wait!
Maybe I’ll see you there!
